This is a schedule of major events in 2008 and 2009. District Work Periods are opportunities for your local coalition to hold meetings with the legislators who serve you in a public space.

Mar 15-30, District Work Period

May 24-Jun 1, District Work Period (Memorial Day)

Jun 28-Jul 6, District Work Period (Independence Day)

Aug 9-Sep 7, District Work Period (Labor Day)

August 25-28, Democratic National Convention, Denver, CO

September 1-4, Republican National Convention, Saint Paul, MN

November 4, Election Day

November 5, start of Transition period/Congress’s “lame duck” period

2009

January 20, Inauguration Day (end of transition and “lame duck” period)

December 31, Sunsets end on the following PATRIOT Act sections:

  • Section 215 business records
  • Roving wiretaps
  • “Lone wolf” surveillance
